Workshop: Exploring Collage
Workshop: Exploring Collage
COMING SOON as a self-paced option
Join artist Julie Galante for this online workshop in which you’ll make a series of paper collages using a variety of approaches and techniques.
Collage is a way of creating a visual work of art by combining different elements - be they found images, patterns, bits of text, textured papers - in new and sometimes unexpected ways. We’ll explore collage through a series of tutorials covering different ways to create balance and visual interest, using a variety of subject matter (landscapes, faces, found poetry) as inspiration for our creations.
This workshop is suitable for absolute beginners, as well as those with experience who’d like to explore new approaches to making collage.
This workshop includes a live Zoom session, access to a series of instructional videos and demos, and a sharing Zoom event (all in all the equivalent of around two days of workshop activities). Additionally, UK-based participants can opt to receive a custom kit of collage papers via post in advance of the workshop. There will be a short list of the additional supplies you’ll want to gather before the live workshop — things such as newspapers, magazines, scissors, glue, and inks or watercolours, which many of you will already have on hand.
A limited number of bring-a-friend-for-half-price tickets are available for this workshop. When choosing this option, you’ll be able to bring along a second person, either within your same household or in a different one.
If you have any questions about this workshop, feel free to get in touch.
